A Seasonal Roof Maintenance Checklist for Texas Homes
October 5, 2026 · 4 min read · By the LoneRidge Roofing Team

Roofs fail slowly, then all at once. A few simple checks each season, most of them from the ground or the attic, catch small problems before they become leaks.
Spring
Before storm season, have the roof inspected, trim overhanging branches and clear gutters. Take dated photos of your roof.
Summer
Check the attic for excessive heat and blocked soffit vents. After storms, look for granules at downspouts and dented gutters.
Fall
Clean gutters after leaves drop, especially under oaks and pecans, and look for lifted shingles after summer storms.
Winter
After freezes or high winds, check ceilings and the attic for stains and make sure gutters are still secure.
